WELCOME

Tuscola County Medical Care Facility is located up in the rural thumb of Michigan yet is strategically located to serve several larger cities such as Saginaw, Bay City, Lapeer and Flint.

We added an additional 18 beds in March of 2007 for a total of 159 beds in our facility. All are dually certified to accommodate either skilled or basic nursing residents. This includes 36 beds that are designated specifically for Alzheimer's residents. At the same time, we are admitting more residents that require short term therapy preparing them for discharge back to their homes.

MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of Tuscola County Medical Care Facility is to facilitate a care-partnership among staff, residents and families that enhances the quality of life for all we serve. Further, to maintain a level of excellence among our staff, exercise financial responsibility and adapt to the everchanging needs of life’s continuum.

Quick Little History
In 1945 Irl Baguly was named Supervisor over the infirmary. Six months later the State Fire Marshall said the old facility was not safe. At that time the building was 95 years old., and one of the oldest building's of it's kind still in use in Michigan. In the spring of 1956 a millage proposal for the construction of a new, modern Medical Care Hospital passed by 300 votes. Construction began soon on the new Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. On November 25, 1958 the resident's from the old facility were moved into the new T.C.M.C.F.
